Mission 16W

The Colorado Avalanche kicked off their run to the Stanley Cup last night with an exciting 3-2 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild.  You know it was a good game because Sandy stayed up late to watch overtime!  🙂  And of course the kids were annoyed that we sent them to bed after the 2nd period (even though it was already an way past their bed time).

The Avs have struggled against the Wild all season especially when playing in Minnesota.  However they had a strong game last night, the offense looked great, the special teams were solid – though not amazing (especially given that they were short handed 5 times v.s. 1 for the Wild), and we had more sustained pressure than I’ve seen in a long time.  My only disappointment was that Ian Laperriere didn’t mix it up with Boogaard, there was some good hype on the radio that morning, we were hoping for some fireworks.

One win down, 15 more to go!
